The Seattle International Comedy Competition is an annual, well, as the name implies, comedy competition that’s been running since 1980 (2020 notwithstanding).
It takes place for four weeks every November — two weeks of preliminaries, one semi-finals week, and a finals week — bringing 32 comedians from across the world to Seattle. Shows are held in both Seattle proper and across the rest of Western Washington from nearly Canada to Oregon, the Olympic Peninsula to the Cascade foothills.
All participants who advance to the semis and beyond collect a cash prize, with the finalists receiving thousands of dollars.
With over 45 years of history, SICC has some very famous alumni who you know — and some who will be on your radar soon.
