Hello, Editor’s Editor here: I suppose we should introduce ourselves.

Currently, the light from your computer screen is being transmitted to your “brain” via what scientists call “eyeballs” — in particular, via your “pupils,” which act as “aperatures,” which do “something.” And that something right now is what is allowing you to read this, the introductory statement from the PNW Comedy Rag.

If you haven’t already, you’ll see a note from our Editor on the gist of why we’re starting this publication over yonder; you can also see how it’s coupling with the 40+ year-long-running Seattle International Comedy Competition, and how we’re using the online home of this annual magazine to promote some killer local shows on both the American and Canadian side of the Pacific Northwest.

While the Comedy Rag will be published and distributed every November alongside SICC, we’ll be posting on the blog quite often about new Cascadian comedy shows, SICC alumni, and cool projects, specials, and updates from friends of the many PNW comedy scenes (and beyond). (We’re also excited to shout out some of our awesome supporters who are making this whole thing possible!)

If that sounds like something you’re into — which we sure hope “fun and joy and laughter and community” is something we’re all into — you can subscribe to our mailing list below. We’ll send out occasional updates on all of the above, but won’t spam you, we promise. Because spam sucks, unless it’s sliced n’ fried nice and crispy-like.
